Abssac is in the unique position of being able to research and develop special types of thread forms that meet your exact requirements. We are capable of making tooling if a special thread form with a specific lead (or pitch) if required.  We are also capable of assisting you with a leadscrew assembly design and provide first article inspection for your approval. Precision rolled screw with a 60 degree fine thread which is commonly used in linear motion to provide fine and accurate adjustment. The product has a metric sized thread profile between M2.0 X 0.40 and trapezoidal 16 X 2.0. The lead accuracy is 0.08mm per 300mm maximum. Standard rolled material is 300 series Stainless Steel. The surface roughness is a burnished 16 finish or better. ABSSAC offers custom thread forms upon request.

Employing a traditional hands on approach to business, Abssac has expanded its lead screw ranges further by adding more diameters and leads per product range in 2014.

Precision rolled with a 29 degree ACME thread form provides both efficiency of motion and load strength. Formed by a cold rolling process the lead screw material has a smooth finish for reduced friction and a strong grain structure for driving high loads. Maximum length of screw as is 144 inch on this imperially sized product. ACME thread sizes range between 3/16" and 5/8" in outside diameter and conform to ANSI B1.5 and B1.8 thread standards. The product is available in single or multiple start thread forms.

A complete range of low cost, studded screw ideal for construction and architectural purposes. ABSSAC can deliver quickly diameters such as : M4; M5; M6; M8; M10; M12; usually from 20mm to 100 mm in lengths in different materials such as : raw, zinc plated, stainless steel A2-304, and A4-316, packed in bags or carton boxes. The wide range of all threaded stud bolts DIN 976/A is based on ISO METRIC thread with big pitch but this does not exclude the production of fine pitch studs bolts and Whitworth thread forms if requested.

Lead screw applications often require ABSSAC to look at enhancements to the standard product in order that higher efficiency or perhaps higher temperatures or duty cycles can be achieved without premature product degradation. One such enhancement of the standard lead screw product is a coating, which can be applied to the product on request. Other coatings such a dry lubricant can also be supplied on request.

Eliminating backlash from lead screw nut designs has always been a demanding task. To eliminate the backlash often meant a sacrifice in drag torque. With some innovative nut designs, our standard anti-Backlash lead nuts are available for use with several standard thread forms. The anti-backlash nut ranges feature compensation for clearance or wear between the leadscrew and nut when reversing the direction of movement. 

Our standard Plain leadnuts are suitable to be used on several thread forms. By matching the nut to the screw increases accuracy and reduces the stresses within the driven system.

We strive to ensure a precision fit tolerance between the nut and screw to ensure a more reliable linear movement. In some cases we utilise a PTFE impregnated plastic as the nut base which gives excellent wear, high load capacity and a high degree of structural integrity . Plain nuts are available for both right handed and the left handed threads.

Legacy Linear

Products progress through time and some designs get superseded by better designs. The Legacy range of precision, acme and custom lead screws are still available, but it might be worth having a discussion with one of our technical engineers to see if a better design is available for your application.
