Available on 4mm to 12mm diameter ground ball screw with 1mm and 2mm lead variants. The basic design has two ball nuts, a left hand and right hand thread all on one screw. This set up is often required to activate a precision gripping device or perhaps adjust the width of an area within a machine.

A recent application had this exact set up within a confectionary machine. Abssac supplied the SD1202-180L180R440C5 ground ball screw which utilises a 12mm diameter by 2mm lead ball screw in both a right hand and left hand format on the single screw. In affect both screw thread forms met at the centre of the screw, separated by a small blank section. This enabled two nuts to then be mounted on the screw which would then move in opposition to each other for a single screw direction of rotation. A pinching or extension movement could be achieved with the opposing nuts with up to 5 micron accuracy. For more performance data, aswell as further screw and nut dimensions please see our catalogue. Non standard sizes are available on request.
