When the application requires a direct and solid shaft connection and the shaft misalignments during operation are minimal, a rigid shaft coupling is a great choice. To suit shafts from 6mm up to 50mm in diameter as standard.
A solid compression-type coupling or rigid coupling as it is sometimes termed, has no flexibility but can effectively be used to connect two shafts to make a permanent joint. The solid coupling is usually designed to be capable of transmitting the full torque load capacity of the shaft.

ABSSAC stocks a wide range of solid (muff) style shaft coupling for fast easy shaft connection. Ideal for 6mm to 50mm diameter shafts, the anodised steel construction is designed for arduous use. Simply release the clamp style design by removing the four bolts, fit the coupling and then reapply the bolts to a fixed torque to achieve a reliable shaft connection. Holding tight tolerances to the concentricity on the bore, The ABSSAC rigid coupling is an ideal emergency fix or prototype connection.
By precisely aligning the two shafts and holding them firmly in place, rigid couplings help to maximize performance and increase the expected life of the machine. These rigid couplings are available in two basic designs to fit the needs of different applications. Sliced rigid couplings are the most affordable and easiest to use, whilst split rigid couplings come in two parts and fit together around the shafts to form a sleeve. The advantage of this is that they can be installed and removed without machine dis-assembly.
Both types are available from ABSSAC suiting shaft sizes from 6mm to 50mm in diameter, in a choice of either steel (black anodised finish) and stainless steel.

Suited to shaft sizes from 3mm to 12mm diameter, including imperial and custom formats, make the new MPR series ideal for applications where high torque and exceptional torsional stiffness are required.
