Solid Shaft Connection

When the application requires a direct and solid shaft connection and the shaft misalignments during operation are minimal, a rigid shaft coupling is a great choice. To suit shafts from 6mm up to 100mm in diameter as standard.

A solid compression-type coupling or rigid coupling as it is sometimes termed, has no flexibility but can effectively be used to connect two shafts to make a permanent joint. The solid coupling is usually designed to be capable of transmitting the full torque load capacity of the shaft.

Solid Performance

ABSSAC supplies a comprehensive range of solid (muff-style) rigid shaft couplings designed for quick, reliable shaft connection. Suitable for shaft diameters from 6mm to 100mm, these couplings are engineered for demanding applications and manufactured to tight concentricity tolerances. As a result, they provide an excellent solution for emergency repairs, prototypes, or any situation requiring a solid shaft connection.

By accurately aligning two shafts and securing them firmly together, rigid couplings help maximise system performance and extend machine life. ABSSAC offers several design variants to suit different installation needs:

  • Rigid Shaft Couplings
  • RIGID Series 6mm to 50mm bores

KBST2

A sliced rigid coupling featuring a simple clamp attachment. It is the most cost-effective clamp-style option and simple to install.

KBST2-G

A split rigid coupling supplied in two halves that assemble around the shafts to form a complete sleeve. This design allows installation and removal without dismantling surrounding equipment.

KBST1

A set-screw rigid coupling offering the most economical solution overall. It is particularly well-suited for shafts with flats or keyways.

All models are available in steel (with a black anodised finish) or stainless steel, covering shaft sizes from 6mm to 100 mm.

Miniature Precision Solid Couplings

Miniature Precision Solid CouplingsFor smaller shaft sizes the new MR series clamping method that ensures the concentricity of the clamped shaft. Suited to shaft sizes from 3mm to 12mm diameter, including imperial and custom formats, make the new MPR series ideal for applications where high torque and exceptional torsional stiffness are required.

  • Exceptional torsional stiffness
  • High torque capacity
  • Metric and Imperial bore formats
  • Integral clamp shaft attachment
