These are dry, spring-actuated brakes that are compact in design and dedicated for braking use. They use a frictional material within their design that delivers quiet, long term and reliable service. During operational they exhibit extremely small torque fluctuations which translates into even and constant braking even under abnormal circumstances. The integral rotor spring located on the outer periphery of the rotor reduces unpleasant high-frequency friction noise that occurs during braking.

Highly abrasion-resistant friction material is used for long service life.
