Electromagnetic Toothed Clutches

Using symmetrical full depth tooth profiles to accept both clockwise and anticlockwise rotations can be accepted. The saw tooth profiles, are used for one rotation direction only . The range of electromagnetic tooth clutches operate without drag torque whilst the compact designs are easy to install with internal bearings ensuring the concentricity of the stator and rotor.  The reliable design can engage anywhere within the 360 degrees of rotation or at a single designated position. Please note that only one engagement location is allowed per revolution. Applications to date have seen the product successfully used within printing machines, packaging machinery as well as food processing machinery.

These clutches may be either full position, which engage everywhere around their circumference, or single position, which connect to a set position and engage only in one location per revolution. The shape of the tooth tip may be either symmetrical or sawtooth. Symmetrical tips can be used in any rotation direction, while sawtooth tips are faster than symmetrical tips and can connect at higher speeds.

These electromagnetic tooth clutches are electromagnetic-actuated clutches that transmit torque by engaging teeth.Since torque is transmitted by engaging teeth, these clutches can transmit very high torque with a compact size. These clutches may be either full position, which engage everywhere around their circumference, or single position, which connect to a set position and engage only in one location per revolution.
