Electromagnetic clutches and electromagnetic brakes

Widely used within machine control, particularly as part of the safety environment, electromagnetic clutches and electromagnetic brakes are devices that control the power and rotary movement using an electromagnetic force generated by internal energizing coils. Principally, clutches connect and disconnect when energised whilst brakes operate to hold a stopped state or maintain rotary movement. Two disciplines exist, those being the electromagnetic actuated types and spring actuated types, both of which can be found in innovative mechanically moving equipment. Both designs are widely used in a plethora of markets. More product information can be found here
