Just a little update from Michael Tunstin from round 2 at Donington Park a few weeks back. After our impressive Round 1 at Silverstone, I was keen to continue the good form at Donington. Qualifying saw us start in P6, just on the end of row 2, and the lap times were very close to all the riders around us, which pointed towards a close race. However, Race 1 didn't quite go as everyone had thought, and I ended up running a very lonely race, crossing the line in P5. Nevertheless, we were extremely happy to secure some more valuable points, and continue our strong start to the season.
Race 2 saw us start in P9, due to our lap time in Race 1, so a little further back than I had hoped for. But Race 2 proved to be the race of the season so far. A 15 lap long battle ensued for the final podium position between 5 of us, with overtakes at almost every corner, and some good close racing. It was easily my toughest race in the class, and the most enjoyable too. We crossed the line in P7, and although the result wasn't as good as Race 1, to be in with the fight for the podium was a great effort.
Round 3 is only a couple of weeks away, on the 15-17th July, and we are racing as a support race for the World Superbike Championship back at Donington Park.
