Precision Rolled Ball Screws

Proudly supplying the KSS cold rolled formed precision ball screws makes the product ideal for applications that do not require the finite accuracy of the ground ball screw equivalent, but are still required to reliably and precisely transmit a linear load. Offering a wide range of ball nut designs, diameters from 4mm to 15mm and leads of 1mm to 20mm are available with accuracies of C7-20 to C10-50. All rolled ball screws can be supplied cut to length, with end journals machined ready to fit into an application.

High mechanical efficiency guaranteed

KSS Ball Screws are fitted with Steel ball bearings, providing the rolling contact between the nut and Screw Shaft, allowing for mechanical efficiency of about 90% and reducing the required torque to less than one-third that of conventional Lead Screws. The design of the KSS Ball Screws also allows linear motion to be converted into rotary motion effortlessly.

●Axial play

With conventional Triangular and Trapezoidal Screw threads, reducing the axial play increases the rotational torque due to friction. KSS Ball Screws offer low friction with no axial play due the meticulous manufacturing methods employed. The use of double nuts can also further increase rigidity.

●High precision

KSS Ball Screws are machined, assembled, and inspected using the technology of ultra-precision lead screw and screw gauge machining, under the temperature-controlled environment. High precision and accurate positioning are ensured.

●Long service life

The KSS Ball Screw movement results in virtually no wear, as the rolling-contact design, combined with the use of carefully selected heat-treated materials, results in an extremely low friction. This is the reason that high precision can be kept over long period.

KSS Ball screws that have been cold rolled formed are ideal for applications that do not require the finite accuracy of the ground ball screw equivalents, but are still required to reliably transmit a linear load with high degree of accuracy. The following series are available in the precision rolled screw format.

SR/SSR with Flanged Mount Nut - C7 accuracy - 4mm diameter up to 15mm diameter screws. Screw leads from 1mm up to 20mm. Using the flange on the nut for attachment

MSR with Thread Mount nut - C7 accuracy - 4mm diameter up to 14mm diameter screws. Screw leads from 1mm up to 5mm. Using the thread on the nut for attachment

BSR Compact with Keyway Mount- C7 accuracy - 4mm diameter up to 14mm diameter screws. Screw leads from 1mm up to 6mm. Using external keyway on the nut  for attachment

PSRT with Flanged Mount Nut - C5toC7 accuracy - fixed 8mm diameter screw. Screw leads from 1mm and 2mm. Using the flange on the nut for attachment

SRT/SSRT with Flanged Nut - C7 accuracy - 4mm diameter up to 12mm diameter screws. Screw leads from 1mm up to 20mm. Using the flange on the nut for attachment

Put simply, the rolling process forms a thread for less cost than grinding. However, we can still achieve accuracies of C7-20 (that's 52 microns per 300mm of lead accuracy - 20 microns of axial backlash). We have well over 3 decades of experience in ball screws, ABSSAC can assist you through the selection process to ensure the right part is chosen for the application.

End Journal machining

Our machining capability gives you a high journal concentricity product and can be applied to all screws regardless of diameter.  Lets work together to reduce your scrap rates and supply ball solutions that fit your application every time. We can work directly from your dimensional drawings or if they do not exist, why not supply us with a physical sample for us to copy. Although all types of end machine detail can be supplied we offer a very cost effective basic end journal machining that fits our range of support bearings

Linear guides and rails

Linear guides and rails If you are interested in the using the transport ball screw ranges, do not forget that we also supply the full range of linear guides and rails which can provide the load support in your linear mechanism. Offering excellent rigidity and parallelism during operation the guides can be used in both vertical and horizontal planes.
