Ballscrew (Ground)

Ball screws that have been formed by a grinding process are used where acute linear accuracy is paramount within the application. We offer a quality program of metric threaded screws, with a variety of ball nut combinations. The chart below details the diameters versus the available leads.

In March 2008 we launched a new end deflection series, which recirculates the ball bearings in the end plate of the ball nut. This design not only reduces the length of the ball nut but reduces the cost as well. The new FEB and FDB series are available in diameters of 6, 8, 10 and 12mm with leads ranging from 2.5 to 10mm. As standard this new series offers up to C3 lead accuracy and a full end machining capability.

Please also note that we offer the capability to supply customs designs to suit the application.

Ball screws (ground) BS Image

Ball screws (ground) BS

3mm to 16mm diameter ground ball screw with 3mm to 6mm lead variants. This is our most compact nut design. Mounting is via external keyway offering the smallest nut diameter and length possible. Backlash can be eliminated. Using a compact cylindrical single nut, axial play can be eliminated using over sized balls.

Ball screws (ground) FBS FKB FDB FEB single nut Image

Ball screws (ground) FBS FKB FDB FEB single nut

1.8mm to 20mm diameter ground ball screws. It is our most simple single nut ball screw design. It is possible to supply the FBS series with slightly oversized balls to eliminate axial play and provide a light preload. The nut should be mounted using bolt holes in Flange.

FBS (Return-plate), FKB (Internal-deflector), FDB (End-deflector), FEB (End-cap) circulation systems.

Ball screws (ground) FKB FBS bidirectional

In the FKB or FBS series there are both right-handed thread and left-handed thread on the single shaft delivering a Bi-directional function.  The nuts utilise  a standard flange style of attachment , however it is possible  to provide the same set up using cylindrical sleeve type nuts. As this product is ground is it possible to supply this style on ball screw with absolute position or controlled preload or backlash.

Ball screws (ground) FSBS double nut Image

Ball screws (ground) FSBS double nut

The FSBS series has a spacer  inserted between the two nuts to eliminate axial play. Preloading can also be applied to increase nut rigidity. For ease of mounting to the application the FSB series nut can be attached using the bolt hole flange design. This design uses a flanged nut in combination with a sleeve nut.  The double nut enhances rigidity.

Ball screws (ground) KS square nut Image

Ball screws (ground) KS square nut

6mm to 10mm diameter screws with 1mm and 2mm lead variants. The square nut is finished with a large mounting face parallel to the nut centre. The nut design allows for easy mounting within applications where the flange design might not be suitable. Supplied with minimum backlash.

Ball screws (ground) MS single nut Image

Ball screws (ground) MS single nut

4mm to 14mm diameter screws. The cylindrical type with metric thread at the nut end. making it suitable for mounting within a  cylinder.

Ball screws (ground) SD Image

Ball screws (ground) SD

4mm to 12mm diameter ground ball screw with 1mm and 2mm lead variants. A precision ball screw with a C3, C5 accuracy grade. The SD series are similar to the economical ball screws which move bi-directionally with one shaft and deliver centered, precision positioning.   The SD series are available in a range of standard screw sizes and lengths. Non standard sizes are available on request.

Ball screws (ground) SG Image

Ball screws (ground) SG

3mm to 15mm diameter versions with 0.5mm to 20mm lead variants. A precision ground ball screw series with repeatable accuracy of  C3 or C5. These screws have fixed bearing end machining at one end of the screw. Short delivery is available by machining supported end in accordance with the customer’s request.

Ball screws (ground) SWBS Image

Ball screws (ground) SWBS

6mm to 16mm diameter ground ball screws with 2mm to 5mm lead variants. A double sleeve with keyway type style nut using two cylindrical nuts with a spacer inserted between them to apply a preload. The double nut enhances rigidity.

End Journal machining

Our machining capability gives you a high journal concentricity product and can be applied to all screws regardless of diameter.  Lets work together to reduce your scrap rates and supply ball solutions that fit your application every time. We can work directly from your dimensional drawings or if they do not exist, why not supply us with a physical sample for us to copy. Although all types of end machine detail can be supplied we offer a very cost effective basic end journal machining that fits our range of support bearings

Linear guides and rails

If you are interested in the using the transport ball screw ranges, do not forget that we also supply the full range of linear guides and rails which can provide the load support in your linear mechanism. Offering excellent rigidity and parallelism during operation the guides can be used in both vertical and horizontal planes.
