Whether it is a simple lead screw or acme thread, Abssac has one of the largest linear product ranges to choose from. Combine this with a fast turnaround machine shop that can supply end journals that are ready to fit directly into your application, which ultimately reduces your scrap rate. Abssac is ready to help you find the right product for the right price.
Employing a traditional hands on approach to business, Abssac has expanded its lead screw ranges further by adding more diameters and leads per product range in 2009. We now supply miniature diameters from 2mm up to the power screw ranges that start at 12mm and go up to a maximum of 200mm in diameter . We supply both metric and imperial leads per diameter in both right and left hand formats. Supplying, cold rolled, whirled, machined or ground style lead screw formats in stainless steel, low carbon steel and exotic materials if required, means that we have the linear device to suit all applications.
If you require multi-start, high helix for high linear traversing speeds or ultra fine Vee thread format screw for positional accuracy Abssac can supply all of your linear requirements.
All our antibacklash nut designs compliment the complete ranges of lead screws and in some cases can be tapped to run on ball screw threads. Primarily Abssac uses Delrin as the base material for the plastic nuts. Delrin is an acetal resin engineering plastic and is often used as a metal substitute. Delrin is lightweight, has a low coefficient of friction, is extremely wear-resistant and capable of operating in temperatures in excess of 90 degrees Celsius (approx 200 degrees Fahrenheit). Other plastic materials we use are: polyoxymethylene (POM), acetal resin, polytrioxane and polyformaldehyde. Bronze nuts are normally machined from SAE660 bronze but also employed aluminium bronze hybrids for certain applications.

Eliminating backlash from lead screw nut designs has always been a demanding task. Removing the backlash has often meant a sacrifice in drag torque, however we have a number of solutions to this age old problem.
For example, one new nut design utilises a revolutionary cam collar, which will eliminate the backlash, maintain a high axial stiffness and simultaneously reduce drag friction. Other designs enable lighter loads (up to 4.5kg) smooth movement and low drag torque. Some nut designs utilise the latest technology in injection moulding techniques to produce the precision form complete with an integral three holed attachment flange for ease of connection to the application. An external spring and collar arrangement creates the axial preload to eliminate the backlash when on the screw.
All our antibacklash nut designs compliment the complete range of lead screws and in some cases can be tapped to run on ball screw threads.
Primarily we use Delrin as our base material for the plastic nuts. Bronze nuts are normally machined from SAE660 bronze but we have also machined in aluminium bronze hybrids for certain applications.
